Obituary of Ruth Williams

Ruth "Elaine" Williams returned to her Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2008. Born on May 27, 1936 in Silverton, Oregon, Elaine was 72 years old. A Clark County resident since 1957, Elaine married the love of her life Al in 1965. She and Al were members of the Vancouver Yacht Club and active volunteers as host parents in the Foreign Exchange Programs, and were devoted foster parents for ten years even winning the Foster Parents of the Year Award. She enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, shooting, traveling, softball, and horses. Most of all, Elaine loved her family and friends. Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Al, children David Williams, Terri Narni, Rod Williams, Randy Williams, Rick Williams, and Tammy Harrison, cousins Joanne, Beatrice, and Delores, grandchildren Kristina, Sean, Colton, Kyler, Chad, Felicia, Angelina, Nicole, Brian, David Jr., Robbie, and Nova, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Margaret, and brothers George E. Adams, and Dennis Adams. There will be a Celebration of Life Service fro Ruth on Friday, November 14th at 11:00 am at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Interment will follow at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Viewing will be held on Thursday at the chapel from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Memorials in Elaine's honor may be sent to the American Cancer Society: 0330 SW Curry St., Portland, OR 97239. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
