Obituary of Aleene Hoak

Aleene Lavonne Hoak returned to her Lord on Sunday, January 4, 2009. Born to John and Beulah Monroe on January 21, 1933 in Niangua, Missouri, Aleene was 75 years old.
Aleene enjoyed work of any kind, gardening, canning, quilting, supporting family in their endeavors, cracking the whip over son-in-laws, and helping folks in distress. She was founder of the Ladies Tea Association, the Holy Spirit Inn, and a pillar in her church. Her life was joyfully poured out in living service for her Lord, family, and others.
Aleene is survived by her children Gary (Nancy) Hoak, Debra (Dorman) Davis, Carol (John) Kosterman, Barbara (Earl) Mitchell, and Andrew (Julie) Hoak, brothers James and Lawrence Monroe, sister Leona Coombs, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Arlin Hoak in 1992 and grandson Joshua Davis in 2008.
There will be a Celebration of Aleene's life on Saturday, January 10th at 2:00 pm at Calvary Community Church in Camas. Viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Vault interment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
