Obituary of Robert McElroy

Robert Lee McElroy peacefully passed away at his home in Washougal with his family by his side on January 7, 2009. Born in Post, Texas on December 27, 1938, Robert was 70 years old. A six year resident of the Clark County area, Robert was formerly from Post, Texas. Considered by his family and friends as an "Original Cowboy," Robert worked as a Rancher in Texas starting at age eleven. He enjoyed watching Western films and John Wayne movies, playing dominos on the ranch, dancing, going to casinos, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Robert is survived by his loving wife of twenty years Joyce at home, sons Vernon Ferguson of San Angelo Texas, Darron Bockmon of Battlground Washington, Ricky Ferguson of Guthrie Texas, Daniel Bockmon, Jerry Bockmon, Donald Bockmon all of Farmington New Mexico, Timothy McElroy of Washougal Washington, Elijah McElroy Battleground Washington , and Chris "Pete" McElroy of Washougal Washington, daughters Denise Howard of Summerville South Carolina, Sherri Adams of Texas, and Salina Dockter of Portland, Oregon, and thirty-two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Lou McElroy, Marie Munoz, and Edna Mae Glover. There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
