Dean Patrick Helt returned to his Lord on February 1, 2009 after a long and courageous fight against cancer. Born on February 1, 1972 in Richland, Washington to Raymond and Katherine Helt, Dean was 37 years old. A nine year resident of Camas, Dean was formerly from Woodinville, the Renton-Seattle areas, Vancouver, and Spokane. A graduate of Kentridge High School in Kent, Washington, Dean attended and graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor's of Art Degree in Business in 1995. He worked for H & K Sales and Marketing LLC as a salesman in the electrical industry. He was a member of Harvest Community Church in Camas, and a National Electrical Sales Organization. He enjoyed skiing, golf, travel, visiting Hawaii, big-game fishing, hiking, playing softball and fantasy football. He supported the Mariners, Huskies, and Seahawks. Most of all, Dean enjoyed being around his family and raising his children, and being with friends. Dean is survived by his loving wife of ten years Amy at home, daughter Alexandra Marie Helt at home, sons Dean Patrick Helt Jr. and Andrew Neil Helt at home, parents Raymond and Katherine Helt of Tacoma, brother Dale Patrick Helt of Tacoma, grandmothers Lydia Helt and Geraldine Birr-French both of Colfax, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Dean's life on Saturday, February 7th at 11:00 am at Gateway Community Church: 1235 E St., Washougal, WA 98671 with a reception to follow at the church. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 6th at Brown's Funeral Home 410 NE Garfield St. Camas, WA 98607. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 12th at 2:00 pm at the Colfax Cemetery: 802 Sr. 272, Colfax, Washington 99111. A reception will follow at Hill Ray Plaza immediately following the graveside service. Memorials in Dean's honor may be sent to the Lance Armstrong Foundation or Harvest Community Church in Camas. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
