Florence Jeannette Markanen peacefully passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at her home in Vancouver. Born on September 27, 1920 in Benton County, Missouri, Florence was 88 years old.
A Vancouver resident since 1950, Florence enjoyed painting, gardening, ice skating, and playing the organ. Most of all Florence enjoyed being around her family and friends.
Florence is survived by her daughter Janet Campbell of Vancouver, sons Carle Douglas Markanen of Vancouver, and Gary Lee Markanen of Vancouver, sister Violet Willardson of California, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Carle Markanen in 1978.
A graveside service was held for Florence on March 6th at 1:00 pm at the Elim North Cemetery in Brush Prairie, Washington.
Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
