Stephen P. Fondren passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in Vancouver. Born on October 30, 1954 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Stephen was 54 years old.
A Vancouver resident for the past 29 years, Stephen was self-employed as a finish carpenter. He was a Past Master at Mt. Hood #32 F & A.M. of Vancouver, a member of the Portland Valley Scottish Rite Bodies, and a member of the Carpenters Union of Portland. He enjoyed making turquoise jewelry, leather, and wood, watching NASCAR, and making trips to the beach.
Stephen is survived by his wife Tanya Fondren at home, sons Jason Fondren of Texas, and Dylan Fondren of Camas, daughter Kristen Fondren, step-daughters Morgana Ricardo of Battle Ground, and Roslynn Briggs of Marysville, Washington, brother Michael Fondren of Texas, one grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 5:00 pm at the Masonic Center in Vancouver: 2500 NE 78th St., Vancouver, WA 98665. Memorials in Stephen's honor may be sent to Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children: 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd. Portland, OR 97201.
