Allen Arley Austin returned to his Lord on Friday, March 20, 2009. Born on October 31, 1936 in Arma, Kansas, Allen was 72 years old.
A Camas-Vancouver resident for over 35 years, Allen worked as a truck driver in the transportation industry. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and spent most of his tenure stationed in Alaska. He was a member of the Christian Life Pentecostal Church in Camas. Allen had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying his plane and traveling to see his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and dancing.
Allen is survived by his daughter Pennie Kinsel of Washougal, sons Mark Austin of Washougal, and Terry Austin of Seattle, brothers Kenneth Austin of Port Townsend, Washington, Burton Austin of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Donald "Donnie" Austin of Port Townsend, Washington, sisters Carol Hill of Lake Port, California, Karen House of Port Townsend, Washington, and Delores Brandenstein of Texas, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Austin and Darrell Austin, and sisters Judy Thomas and Laurel Lee.
There will be no public services.
Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
