Lela I. Purrier passed away May 15th at the age of 100. She was born near Searsboro, Iowa on Oct 15, 1908 to Charles and Mabel (Scarborough)Bechly.
Lela worked at Crown Zellerbach for 32 years. She was a member of the Camas United Methodist Church since 1955. She also belonged to Rebekah Lodge # 220 of Washougal, the Navy Mothers # 570, and the CZ 25 year Club.
Lela was preceded in death by her husband Rueben in 1953 and son Grice in 2000.
Survivors include Grandson Rhett (Lisa) Purrier of Aromas, CA. Nephew, Jack Bechly of Woodland, WA. Nieces Leslie Whetzel of Washougal, WA and Doreene Swisher of Salem, Or.
There will be a graveside service at the Camas Cemetery on Friday, June 5 at 2:00 PM. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
