Obituary of Alvin Lasher

Alvin Walter Lasher peacefully passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver, Washington. Born on March 6, 1931 in Hampton, Kentucky, Alvin was 78 years old.
A 40 year resident of Akron, Ohio, Alvin worked as a Probate and Real Estate Attorney and was a member of the Akron and Ohio Bar Association for 50 years before he retired. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Alvin enjoyed politics, classical music, and the History of the Second World War. He was also a long time member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron serving there in numerous capacities including as Moderator.
Alvin is survived by his son John Lasher, daughter-in-law Karen Lasher, and granddaughter Michaela Laser all of Camas, Washington, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Beatrice Lasher, and brothers Horace Lasher, Thomas Lasher, and Sidney Lasher.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Alvin on August 1st at 10:00am at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron. Inurnment will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Donations can be made in Al's name to: Memorial Fund, Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, Ohio.
