Lawrence Lehr passed away on June 30, 2009 at the age of 89 years old. He was born in Nez Perce, Idaho and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC'S) in the 1930's and served in the United States Army in the Pacific during WWII. Lawrence was employed at Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill both before and after the War, and later worked at the Camas Post Office for 30 years, where he was very well known and appreciated. While working at the Camas Post Office he also operated a small dairy farm on Prune Hill. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife Connie Lehr of Camas to whom he was married for over 65 years, children Lawrence Jr. of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Lorena Landon of Kirkland, Washington, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, sister Mary Lou Morton of Lakeport, California, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service with full military honors was held on Friday, July 3rd at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Memorials in Lawrence's memory may be sent to Hospice Southwest. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
