Obituary of Delos Schneider

Delos V. Schneider passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at his home in Washougal. Born on December 3, 1917 in Wayan, Idaho to Ephraim and Annie Schneider, Delos was 91 years old. A Skamania County resident for the last 58 years, Delos worked in the shipyards during World War II, and then the logging industry building and remodeling homes. He then worked as a bus driver up until his retirement and was a twelve year member of the Skamania County Cemetery Board. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Mt. Norway Ward in Washougal where he was a devoted member and missionary of the church. Delos enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. Delos is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years Marlys at home, daughters Marie Croll of Washougal, Sharon Dowden of Seattle, and Lynn Packard of Mulino, Oregon, brother Wayne Schneider of Idaho Falls, Idaho, nineteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter Verlene Cardon in 2007, three sisters and seven brothers. There will be a funeral service for Delos on Wednesday, September 2nd at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Mt. Norway Ward in Washougal. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Vault interment will be held at the Belle Center Cemetery in Washougal. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
