Carolyn J. May peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her home in Portland. Born on September 17, 1942 in Upland, California, Carolyn was 69 years old. A Portland resident since 1983, Carolyn worked as a medical aide before her retirement. She was an avid reader and loved watching movies, Elvis Presley, collecting Mt. St. Helens memorabilia, refrigerator magnets, carborundum memorabilia, and tea pots. Carolyn is survived by her husband Ronald May at home, sons John Rodney Hair, and Randy Alan Hair both of Vancouver, daughter Ronna Lynn Walsh of Yacolt, father-in-law Lawrence E. May of Waldport, Oregon, mother-in-law Glenna D. Sutliff of Huntington Beach, California, brother John "Bud" Ernest of Rialto, California, and Norman "Duke" Dean of Camas, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ernest Brockus and Fred Brockus, and sisters Ruth Burton, Glenda Brockus, and Norma Jean Brockus. There will be a graveside service for Carolyn on Thursday, October 29th at 1:00 pm at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Donations in Carolyn's memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
