James Martin Seaman passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 in Vancouver. Born on August 28, 1950 in Bakersfield, California to Thomas and Irene Seaman, James was 59 years old. A Battle Ground resident for the past six years, James formerly lived in Vancouver, and worked as an inventory controller for Schenker Industries. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of Vancouver Church of Christ. James was an accomplished writer having two books published, and also enjoyed poetry, fishing, traveling, and watching the Anaheim Angels and San Francisco 49ers play on tv. Most importantly, James loved being around his family and friends. James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years Ellen at home, daughters Jennifer DeManty of Battle Ground, and Melissa (Lance) Jackson of Fresno, California, brother Jerry Seaman of The Philippines, sister Ida May Moore of Bakersfield, California, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Seaman Jr. There will be a graveside service with full military honors for James on Thursday, November 5th at 10:00 am at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. A memorial service will follow at Vancouver Church of Christ in Vancouver at 12:00 pm. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
