Obituary of Emilia Robinson

Emelia "Emily" Robinson passed away peacefully at Guardian Angels Adult Family Home in Vancouver, WA on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Emily was born December 24, 1917, in Blanford, Indiana. She was the first of 11 children born to Charles and Amilija Mickes. Emily married James Robinson on September 25, 1938. Shortly thereafter they moved to Carson, Washington where they remained residents until her husband's death in 2001. During that time, Emily served as a board of director to the Carson-Stevenson School District for 27 years. Friends knew Emily as an excellent cook and seamstress who enjoyed making quilts and pastries. Emily is preceded in death by her husband James Robinson; her parents, Charles and Amelija Mickes; brothers, Donald and Albert Mickes; sisters, Dolly Healea and Lily Gfeller. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Chris Robinson of Lebanon, OR; her daughter and son-in-law Evelyn and Mike Nelson of Goodyear, AZ. She also leaves behind four granddaughters, Elorie Bechtel, Summer Slater, Mardy Robinson and Arianna Robinson; and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Caroline Bechtel. Surviving brothers and sisters include Ann Deming, JoAnn Mickes, Judy Begin, David Mickes, Harry Mickes, and Charles Mickes. There will be a graveside service for Emily on Friday, November 27th at 12:00 pm at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
