Spelling Suggestions: Dear Pat, Your gentle demeanor, warm caring heart, and giving soul will be missed dearly in our community. I have many fond memories of you but one stand out above the rest: We had just moved next to the American Legion in December of 2003 and were caught off guard with a terrible snow storm after only being here a couple of days. We were without power, freezing, stranded, and didn't know anyone. I called the store to ask if they had starting fluid as I would walk down and get it. You were at the counter and offered to personally bring it up to me. You stayed here for well over an hour and a half in 15 degree weather helping to warm the generator so we could start it. You learned of my bad back and helped move the generator to the back porch and just stayed to the literal bitter end to make sure we were OK. You wouldn't let me pay for the starting fluid and came back later to check on us. I didn't know you from Adam and realized just what type of community we moved to and how special a man you were. I'm sure their are hundreds of stories like this floating around. You simply were an amazing human being with a huge heart. You will never be forgotten Pat and our community has a whole in it that can never be filled. You were a true friend to all of us... God bless you, Vince Crabtree

Words cannot express the sadness we feel. When we first moved to this community, Patrick was the first person to really reach out and make us feel welcome. Through him we felt a real connection to the people and activities in the community. He is one of the main reasons that we joined the American Legion. From now on, every time we enter the Legion Hall we will think of him. We pray for strength and comfort for his wife Jeri and their children and grandchildren.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Connolly family at this time. Pat's life was one to be celebrated. He is responsible for helping me afford to build my house. I remember the two open racks he sent over to Hawaii had Mount St Helens ash on them as they had to be trucked to Seattle because they couldn't get out of the Port of Portland. He obviously assisted many others over the years. Truly a good man. God rest his soul.
