Obituary of Erin Swainston

Erin Maureen Swainston returned to her Lord on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in Vancouver. Born on January 16, 1975 to Gordon Swainston and Jeanni Wilson in Ventura, California, Erin was 34 years old. A Camas resident since 2005, Erin was formerly of Ventura, California. A graduate from Buena High School in Ventura in 1992, Erin received an academic and athletic scholarship from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. She later attended the University of California Santa Barbara where she received her degree in Sociology. She was currently attending Clark College concentrating her efforts toward a Bachelor's Degree in nursing. Daughter Bailey Jo was the center of her universe. She was a proud and involved parent at Columbia Extreme Cheer where Bailey Jo was a member. Erin will forever be remembered for her love for her daughter, friends, and family, and her caring, generous and selfless acts to anyone she encountered that needed help. Erin is survived by her loving daughter Bailey Jo, father Gordon (Brenda) Swainston of Ventura, California, mother Jeanni Wilson of Washougal, brother Chad (Debbie) Swainston of Washougal, half-sister Christina (Ralph) Reyes, step-sister Stevi Cervantes of Ventura, California, grandparents Gerald and Marge Swainston of Bakersfield, California, nieces Elyssa, Angelica, and Sierra, uncles David of Houston, and Dan of Bakersfield, aunts Joyce of Cameron Park, and Pam of Bakersfield, and numerous cousins and friends. There will be a celebration of Erin's life on Monday, December 7th at 7:00 pm at Calvary Community Church: 2717 NE 3rd Avenue, Camas, WA 98607. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund for Erin's daughter Bailey Jo. Donations may be sent to "Wells Fargo Memorial Fund for Bailey Jo Epley" at any Wells Fargo Bank Branch. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
