James Clifford Murphy peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Vancouver, Washington. Born on June 29, 1924 in Portland, Oregon, James was 85 years old.
A Washougal resident for the last 25 years, James was formerly from Portland, The Dalles, and Nevada. He worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Union before his retirement. He was a Veteran of World War II having proudly served in the United States Army. James was an avid reader who enjoyed reading books on the World Wars and the Wild West. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.
James is survived by his daughters Kerry Crane of Washougal, Kim (Pete) Oefler of Hazel Dell, Washington, and Kathleene (Kenneth) Buchanan of North Bend, Oregon, sons Timothy Murphy of Florida, and Patrick Magee of Washougal, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years Shirley Murphy in 2003, granddaughter Erin Dawn Wilson in 2007, and son-in-law Steve Crane in 2010.
There will be no public services. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
