Eleanor Madeline Thompson peacefully passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 in Camas. Born on June 13, 1919 in Epping, Essex County, England to Fred and Eleanor Street, Eleanor was 90 years old.
A two year Clark County resident, Eleanor was a former resident of Ford, Washington from 1966-2008. She worked as a Registered Nurse and was also a Master Gardener. She belonged to the Ford Community Church and was also involved in the Senior Citizen Center. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, oil painting, watching football, basketball, and horse racing; even owning a race horse at one time. Her lifelong dream since she was a child was to travel to Hawaii. She was able to fulfill that goal. She will forever be remembered for her generous giving, volunteer work, and for taking such wonderful care of friends and family.
Eleanor is survived by her loving daughters Merrilee (Glenn) Sylte of Rathdrum, Idaho and Darlene Thompson Peery of Camas, sons Robert Edward (Donna) Thompson of Roseburg, Oregon, Mike (Sharon) Thompson of Ford, Washington, and Keith (Connie) Thompson of Battle Ground, Washington, eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years Leigh Thompson in 1993, granddaughter Glenda Lee Sylte in 1982, and sister Doris Muraine in 2007.
There will be a celebration of Eleanor's life on Saturday, May 1st at 10:00 am at the Ford Community Church. Vault interment will follow at the Ford Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
