Jim Mason Gross Sr. returned to his Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Clackamas, Oregon. Born on October 19, 1949 in Raymond, Washington to Charles Mason and Jerline Gross, James was 60 years old. A lifetime Clark County resident, Jim graduated from Battle Ground High School and later attended Clark College. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and then served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom in the United States Air Force before retiring with an Honorable Discharge. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Washougal, and will be remembered for his love of racing, hunting, camping, and fishing. Most of all, Jim loved his family and his Lord. Jim is survived by his loving wife Linda at home, mother Jerline Gross of Hayden, Idaho, children James Gross Jr. of Camas, Jeannie David of Camas, Joseph Ortiz of Lacey, Washington, and James Ortiz of Killeen, Texas, brothers Ron Gross of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Robin Gross of Otis Orchards, Washington, sisters Becky Hill of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Patty Morris of Vancouver, and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Gross and son Gordon Gross. There will be a graveside service with full Military Honors on Monday, May 3rd at 9:30 am at Willamette National Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
