Michael Arthur Robert Smith peacefully passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. Born on August 4, 1945 in Centralia, Washington to Maurice and Rebecca Smith, Michael was 64 years old. A Clark County resident since 1967, Michael worked as a printer for Fort James Paper Mill in North Portland. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vancouver, and a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed being a pilot and Ham Operator, flying, water skiing, golfing, and traveling. For a while he lived in South America and provided Missionary work by founding churches for the communities he lived in. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Erika at home; son Brian Anthony Smith of Vancouver; sister Gillette Chow of Utah; and grandchildren Alexis Smith and Jadon Smith of Vancouver. There will be a Celebration of Michael's life on Saturday, June 5th at 2:00 pm at Cross Point Church: 9810 NE 76th St., Vancouver, WA 98662. In lieu of flowers, the Smith's ask donations be sent to the Ray Hickey Hospice House: PO Box 1600, Vancouver, WA 98668. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
