I want you to know that my memories of Don will be everlasting. He was a good and generous man in the purest definition of those words. I'll always remember him as someone who belived in always doing the right thing. He had a passion for his Country and community...and he never sat on the sidelines. I so admired the strength of his convictions and his willingnss to get involved in making a difference. I will so miss his humor and his challenges to debate just about anything...at any time. These are just a few of my memories of who Don was...a loyal and honorable man...with whom I was privileged to know for almost twenty years. He will be greatly missed. My love and prayers to Ann and all the kids and grandkids.

Don and I began our partnership and friendship some 47 years ago. After the first year at the company, Weyerhaeuser began conducting a series of educational programs. A year or so later, Don and I began working together on a variety of projects in the Information Systems area. Quickly, the nature of our work together changed as the value of our results increased. Don led a team of systems professionals that demonstrated the value of our ideas at the time. We worked together on many company projects in several areas. Our friendship continued after Don retired and began a new career in Portland. Don was an outstanding father, husband and grandfather. Both I and my wife, Barbara, enjoyed the special times we spent with Don, Ann and their family over the years. I deeply cherish and will miss my many phone conversations with Don. These memories will always provide a “foot print” of our friendship that endured almost 50 years. If I would have had a brother, Don would be him. God Bless, you my dear friend! Don, you were the best friend anyone could hope for. Our Love Always to Ann and your loving family … Bill and Barbara Maki

when we first came to Washington it was Don and Ann who welcomed us into their home and lives. We have had many, many happy times together and are deeply saddened by his parting. Don was a true, trusted and great friend and counselor. In our work lives together he was the first person I turned to for help and he was always a major reason for any success we enjoyed. Don was one of those thoughtful, caring, competent and trustworthy people who make the world a better place. Above all, he was someone you always wanted to be with, especially in a tight place. We share your great loss, but remember that wherever he is now, things there are bound to improve.

We'll remember Don with the heartfelt fond memories - he was a great man, generous, kind, not afraid to share his opinions and always caring of others. His life has been an inspiration. Don will be missed but always remembered.
