Obituary of Loraine Ulery

Loraine Caroline Ulery peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. Born on April 25, 1924 in Syre, Minnesota to Leonard and Christine Bertness, Loraine was 86 years old. A sixty-five year Camas-Vancouver resident, Loraine worked as a cook and was a former hotel manager and was a former member of the Camas Woman's Moose Lodge. Remembered for her great sense of humor, Loraine enjoyed baking, bowling, reading, traveling to the beach, and sending out birthday cards to all of her relatives. Most importantly, Loraine loved being around her family and friends. Loraine is survived by her loving husband of twenty-two years Elton at home; daughters Deanna (Dave) Kuepper of Washougal, and Judy Whiteley of Bend, Oregon; sons Kevin Shaw of Washougal, and John Whiteley of Vancouver; brother Clifford (Lois) Bertness of Vancouver; sister Bernice Bleakely of Kent, Washington; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughters Luanne Gauthier and Noreen Sherrell, and sisters Laverne Mikkelson and Violet Castning. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, June 23rd at 2:00 pm at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
