Chester "Bud" John Rischman peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his home in Washougal at the age of 88. Born on July 17, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to Chester and Martha Rischman; Bud was raised by his father Chester and step-mother Ruth Rischman. After graduating from Waite High School in Ohio; Bud enlisted and Honorably served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He married the love of his life Betty Edwards on May 11, 1951 in Monroe, Michigan. After being honorably discharged as a Sergeant; Bud attended Cal Poly Pomona College. He then became a Tool and Die Maker and then worked as a Plant Engineer for DeVilbiss Corp and later Boeing. He was a member of the A.F. of L. - C.I.O. working as a Journeyman Machinist, a member of the North Bank Masonic Lodge #182 F & AM of Washougal, the National Rifleman's Association, and attended Bethel Community Church in Washougal. Bud enjoyed playing his guitar, golfing, hunting, fishing, and listening and playing Jazz music. Most of all, Bud will forever be remembered for the love he had for his family, his grandkids, his country, and his Lord. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 59 ½ years Betty at home; daughter Melinda (James) Dunn of Washougal; sisters Jean Patton of Michigan and Susie Musgrave of Arizona; sister-in-laws Arlene Rischman and Shirley Rischman both of Point Place, Ohio; and grandchildren Blake, Morgan, McKenna, and Landon Dunn all of Washougal. He was preceded in death by his son Micheal Rischman in 1977; his brothers James "Jim" Rischman, and Jack Rischman; and sisters Dottie Rischman and Betty De Shetler. There will be no local services. A private graveside service will be held in Cyprus, California where Bud will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Community Church: 1438 B St.; Washougal, WA 98671. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
