My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Sgt Peto. Even months after you lost your loved one, the prayer chain for "Darkhorse" circulates world wide in Facebook. I see the support several times a month by those who truly care about our service men and women and their families. Please know even though months have past, perfect strangers will stumble upon Jason's legacy because so many still hold tight to God, Corps, and Country. May God continue to heal the family and friends. Rest in peace Cpl Peto, my brother. Semper Fi!!

The Peto Family, My name is Michael Giron and I was a childhood friend of his and lived in the neighborhood when he was living in Rosemead, CA. I was deeply saddened when I heard he had passed away. I truly remember alot of fun times with him, like his model airplanes, his brother garry picking on him and his dog(which was a big black dobermann named dookie) at the time. Again my condolences to his wife and Jason's family.

I am so sorry for the Peto family's great loss. We of the Home of the Brave Quilt Project will be making a memorial quilt for Jason's parents and one for his wife, as well. We mourn with you and will think of you often. We hope both our quilts and the fact that we honor Jason's bravery and remember his sacrifice will bring a little comfort to his family.

My condolences go out to Jason and his family during these hard times. Jason stood above the rest as being dedicated and committed to his job but most of all, to his marines. I had the chance to work with Jason on a day to day basis and got to know him both on and off duty. As we mourn his passing, I keep reminding myself that we all have a destiny or purpose in life. God has a purpose for all of us even though at times it is difficult to see. Some will find that purpose and others will not. One thing that I do know is that Jason was meant to be a Marine. His beloved sacrifice has saved one if not many people. This will always stick in my memory. Not many individuals leave an impression in my mind but I can honestly say that Jason has left an impression in my mind that will last for the rest of my life. I would like to dedicate two versus in the Holy Bible that caught my eye when thinking about Jason. Psalm 71:20-21 says, "Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again." The second verse comes from John 14:1-4, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." Thank you Jason. Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication. I will see you again brother. Your friend and brother, Brandon

With great sadness I read of the death of your brave Marine. As a former combat Marine I take great interest in the passing of our brave service personnel no matter the war or era. I was struck to see that Sgt. Peto was deployed with the exact same unit in Afghanistan as I was in Viet Nam. "Killer Kilo" Co, 3Bn. 5th. Marines, 1st. Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force. I was only in country just over 100 days in 1969 when I was also wounded by a booby trap. I am so proud and awed by our young men and women who go willingly time after time into harms way with such pride and fierce determination Please take solace in knowing that your Marine is welcomed in Heaven by fellow Marines and that the Lord Himself has wrapped His Loving arms around Jason and he is protected and loved for eternity. There is a whole nation out here that mourns and is grateful for Jason's sense of duty and bravery. It was not all for nothing. God Bless you and yours. Semper Fi.

I came across your information through someone I have recently met. I just wanted to say that even though I don't know you, you are in my heart from today on. I am so very sorry for your loss! My son is a Marine along with his 3 best friends that are like my own as well. I know the sacrifices they and their families make everyday to be able to fight for our freedom. Words can not express my condolences to you and your family! Your husband/son had the up-most respected job on this planet and for that, I thank him and you so very much! If it weren't for our soldiers, I don't know where this world would be today. I am thankful for all they do to protect my family & my children. Please stay strong & know, he is in heaven waiting.........waiting for you to join him when the time is right. I believe, he will be protecting you from above as well. You all will never be forgotten.
