Obituary of Genevieve May Northrop
Please share a memory of Genevieve to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Genevieve May Northrop, 74, of Vancouver, Washington died on March 11, 2005, in Vancouver, Washington. Born in Tekoa, Washington, Genevieve lived most of her life in Vancouver, Washington, and is a former resident of Anchorage, Alaska where she was an active member of the AM Vets #2 of Anchorage, Alaska.
Genevieve also liked boating on the Prince William Sound and camping. She enjoyed gardening, painting, playing darts, sewing, arts and crafts, photography, and writing poetry. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchild.
What can you say about your mother? She nurtures you, loves you no
matter how long your teen years last & than she passes from your life with
a quickness & quietness just when you are beginingng to appreciate &
enjoy your time with her. That is probably the saddestst thing except the
fact that maybe you did not tell her that she is the reason you reached
for every star in the sky & took on every dragon & felt like you had
won every prize when you saw the smile & pride in her eyes.
Genevieve is survived by three daughters; Charlotte Town of Anchorage, Alaska, Anita Sue Cochran of Vancouver, Tamara Northrop of Pocatello, Idaho; and her son Michael Kurth of Vancouver. She is also survived by her stepchildren; Diana Northrop and Larry Northrop of Vancouver, her sisters; Carol and Richard Jackson, and Lois Kay Paul; her brother; Tonnie Cavanias, and step-mother; Maxine Cavanias, and is blessed to leave behind 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
There will be no public service. Donations may be made to Doernbechers Children's Hospital: 3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd. Portland, OR 97239. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
