Frieda Bertha Vahsholtz passed away on June 17, 2005 in Camas, Washington. Born in Lincolnville, Kansas, Frieda was 99 years old. Central to her life was her abiding faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to care for her and love her through all eternity.
Frieda was a Washougal resident since 1940 and was the oldest living member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Washougal. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, playing cards, and being extremely hospitable. Frieda loved her entire family and was a very dedicated homemaker and peacemaker.
Frieda is survived by her three sons: Duane of Vancouver, Vernon of Ontario, Oregon, and Harold of Washougal, and her three daughters: Arlene Brumsickle of Kelso, Washington, Norma Swan of Vancouver, and Shirley Hippe of Tacoma, Washington. She is also survived by her two sisters: Velma Denver and Florence White, both from Herington, Kansas. Frieda is blessed to leave behind 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Vahsholtz, and five sisters and five brothers.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Washougal. Viewing will be held at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Washougal Memorial Cemetery in Washougal.
