Mildred Evelyn Niemi passed away on July 9, 2005 in Vancouver at the age of 99. Mildred was a lifetime Clark County resident who enjoyed painting, reading, and traveling. She was also a teacher for the Washington School for the Deaf. Mildred is survived by her nephew, Gerry Nagel of Portland, and her three nieces, Kathleen Detmar of Lynnwood, WA, Molly Ann Sampson of Washougal, and Trudy Boyd of Astoria. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Durgan, and her loving husband Axel who died in 1996. There will be no public services. Interment will take place at Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
