Nicholas Andrew Bega passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2005 in Vancouver. A 57 year Camas-Washougal resident, Nick was 85 years old.
Nick worked as a painter before retiring from Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Camas. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of the V.F.W. Schick-Ogle Post #4278 and the Smith Reynolds American Legion. He was a past member of the AWPPW Local #5 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the I.O.O.F. Nick also was a manager for Little League, Babe Ruth, and American Legion baseball.
Nick is survived by his sons; John T. Bega of Camas, and Frank M. Bega of Idaho, a sister Marge of Butler, PA, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret in 1993.
There will be a celebration of life service on Wednesday July 20th at 11:00 am at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Inurnment will be at the Camas Cemetery. Memorials in Nick's name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Fund: 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
