Charles "Chuck" Richard Holstrom passed away on Monday, September 12, 2005 in Vancouver. Born on November 11, 1947, Chuck was 57 years old. Chuck was an eight year Clark County resident who had a bachelors degree in music and was about to receive his master's in music. He was a former Vietnam veteran who served under the United States Navy and was aboard the USS Hornet when it picked up the Apollo 11 crew from its return from the first landing on the moon. He enjoyed music, classical guitar, hiking, camping, the ocean, clam chowder, and was a proud Eagle Scout and one time tenor for the Chicago Symphony. Most of all, Chuck loved his family and his lord. Chuck is survived by his wife Roz at home, son Nathan Holstrom, and daughter Sarah Holstrom, sister Dodie Weiss of Vancouver, brother David Holstrom of Portland, Aunt Kathy Buthrup and Uncle Chuck Buthrup of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Eloise Holstrom. There will be a celebration of life service for Chuck on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the Camas Church of the Nazarene at 2:00 pm. Donations in Chuck's memory may be made to the American Red Cross in care of the Hurricane Katrina Relief Aid: 3114 E Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661-4660. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
