Obituary of Joan Baxter

Joan W. Baxter passed away on Friday, January 13, 2006 in Camas, Washington. Born on January 6, 1939 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Joan was 67 years old.
Joan married her high school sweetheart Gary Baxter and worked as a homemaker raising her seven children. Gary and Joan were married for 47 years. She lived the last 22 years as a resident of Troutdale, Oregon, and taught quilting at Mr. Hood Community College. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, the ocean, mountains, and woods, old church hymns, and loved her family and her Lord. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Joan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary Baxter at home and Mother-In-Law Marjorie Baxter of Enterprise, Oregon. She is also survived by her two daughters, Heather (John) Aldrich of Camas, Amy Vandewater of Warner Robins, Georgia, five sons, Michael (Becky) Baxter of Sunnyvale, CA, David Baxter of Baltimore, Maryland, Jeff Baxter of Kirkland, WA, Glenn (Marisa) Baxter of Los Gatos, CA, and Brian Baxter of Dallas, TX, and two brothers, Leon (CJ) Reichard of Etna, CA and Oliver (Helen) Reichard of California. Joan is blessed to leave behind six grandchildren, Phillip Baxter, Theodore, William, Benjamin Vandewater, David and Rachel Aldrich.
There will be a church service for Joan on Friday, January 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Enterprise Christian Church in Enterprise, Oregon. A graveside service will follow at Enterprise Cemetery where internment will take place. Viewing will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas from 9:00-5:00 pm.
