Obituary of M. Dorothy Sample

M. Dorothy Sample passes away on Thursday, February 23, 2006 in Washougal. Born on June 22, 1917, Dorothy was 88 years old.
Dorothy worked as a homemaker and was a member of the Riverside Seventh Day Adventist Church in Washougal where she was known as "The Hugger." She loved to grow and provide flowers for the church services, and crochet baby afghans for the International Children's Care of Vancouver. She also enjoyed music, singing, and playing the saxophone, piano, and clarinet.
Dorothy is survived by daughters Charlotte Denney of Fall River Mills, California, Nadine Sample of Washougal, and Dorene Sample of Washougal, son Richard Sample of Colton, CA, sister Charlene Mathiesen of Port Angeles, WA, three grandsons, one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Riverside Seventh Day Adventist Church in Orchards at 4 P.M. Interment will be at Falls City Cemetery in Falls City, Oregon. Memorials in Dorothy's honor may be made to the International Children's Care of Vancouver: PO Box 820610, Vancouver, WA 98682, or to the Riverside Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund: P.O. Box 367 Washougal, WA 98671, or to Missions Unlimited: 1617 Carson Lane, Wenatchee, WA 98801. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
