Carl Edwin McKowan passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2006 in Vancouver. Born on November 20, 1936 in Glendale, California, Carl was 69 years old.
Carl worked as an entrepreneur and held several positions with numerous companies before his retirement. He was a fourteen year veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Quartermaster on the USS Ranger. He received his bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, where he served as the Senior Class President, and received a Varsity Letter in Rugby. He was also a member of TKE Fraternity at UC Berkeley, and received his MBA from Pepperdine University. Most importantly, Carl was very proud of his Irish Ancestry and was a great father who loved his family and niece and nephews.
Carl is survived by his wife, Marlene of Washougal, sons Darren McKowan and Shawn McKowan of Washougal, Sister Dorothy Jean Stechman of California, two grandchildren, and two nieces and two nephews.
There will be a private family service at a later date. Memorials in Carl's honor may be made to the charity of choice.
Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
