Alice Irene Crippen passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 in Camas. Born on May 9, 1913 in Arvada, Colorado, Alice was 93 years old.
A Camas-Washougal resident since 1936, Alice was a businesswoman for NBC Bank for 13 years and worked for Sprouse Reitz before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Washougal, and along with her husband donated the chandeliers from the old Camas Inn to the church. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, crocheting afghans and tablecloths, and worked as a volunteer at the Interfaith Treasure House for several years. Most importantly, Alice loved her family and her Lord.
Alice is survived by her daughters Luella (Floyd) Flohr of Washougal and Alice M. Olson of Vancouver, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 20 years Joe Embler (1952) and her second husband of four years Dick Crippen (1972).
A celebration of life service for Alice was held on Friday, July 14th at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Washougal. Vault interment was held at the Camas Cemetery. Donations in Alice's memory may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church: 716 17th Street, Washougal, WA 98671.
