Dilworth Perry Thompson passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2006 in Camas. Born on November 27, 1943 in Big Spring, Texas, Dilworth was 62 years old.
Dilworth graduated Texas A&M in 1966 with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in English. He worked for many companies serving numerous different job titles before his retirement. He was a former 25 year resident of Portland and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Parker's Landing Ward in Washougal. He was considered a master gardener and he enjoyed carpentry, teaching, hunting, fishing, gardening, and maintaining his rhododendrons.
Dilworth is survived by his wife, Carolyn at home, son Wilson B. Thompson of Vancouver, daughters Stormy N. Staley of West Jordan, Utah, and Darci R. Thompson of Seattle, WA, sisters Leta Kirby of Big Spring, Texas, Francine Jansch of Big Spring, Texas, and Carole Aziz of El Paso, Texas, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Terrel Thompson and Clayt Thompson.
There will be a Church Service for Dilworth on Tuesday, July 18th at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Parker's Landing Ward in Washougal. Vault Interment will follow at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Viewing will be held at 10:00 am at the church on July 18th. Memorials in Dilworth's honor may be made to the church's Missionary Fund.
Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
