Lowell Bobbitt Obituary

Lowell Elton Bobbitt died July 28, 2006. He was 82-years old. Bobbitt was born September 10, 1923 in Camas, WA to Mae and Jess Bobbitt, the fifth of eight children. Except for a short stay in California, Camas was his lifelong home. In 1942, Bobbitt enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII in the Pacific Theater on the USS Yorktown. While home on leave in June 1944 he met and married Alberta Challans after a 2-week whirlwind courtship. They were married fifty-two years and had two children. His wife died in 1996. Bobbitt worked for Crown Zellerbach for over 30 years, was a member and former Elder of St. John's Presbyterian Church and a lifelong member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Everyone knew him as a kind, gentle, quiet man. He is survived by his son Van M. Bobbitt of Seattle, WA and daughter-in-law Sharon Wilson; daughter L. Diane (Bobbitt) Casto of Juneau, AK and son-in-law Joel Casto; his grandchildren Sara and Andrea del Moral and Tyler and Wade Worley; his great-grandchildren James Casto and Joss Krug; a sister Gwennie Paris of Kennewick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 8th at 2:30 p.m. at the Camas Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will follow at the family home. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations can be made to the Southeast Washington Medical Center Foundation, P.O.
