On August 24, Robert E. (Bob) Finch, of Vancouver, WA, peacefully passed away after a brave battle with a long illness. He was surrounded by love, admired by all who met him and will be so very missed by his family and many wonderful friends. Bob was born and raised in Portland, OR. He graduated from University of Portland and attended Santa Clara University. He met Georgia Lee Summers and they married in San Francisco January 17, 1948. They had two daughters Mikki & Susan and, in 1963, the family moved back to Portland, OR. Bob and Georgia have lived in Vancouver WA for the past ten years. Bob served in the Air Force and was a longtime member of the Elks Club, American Legion, CBI (China, Burma, India), and the Portland/Hollywood branch of the Lions Club. Bob had served as an officer in the Lions Club and was proud of his valued participation in the transportation of eye transplant tissue. He attended St. Rose Catholic Church in Portland and currently, St. Joseph 's in Vancouver WA . Bob had a great singing voice and loved to dance with his wife Georgia. Bob was a master at telling jokes and there was always laughter when he was around--even in the last days, he kept smiling! Bob loved golf, boating, skiing (water & snow) and any activity that involved his family! Being true to his Irish heritage, he never met a stranger! That trait combined with his absolute integrity is what made him so successful in sales. He became an investment adviser and he and his grandson Chad Burton, became business partners and worked together for many years. Bob is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Georgia Lee, daughters Mikki (Finch) Burton of Vancouver, Susan (Finch) Baker of New Mexico, granddaughter Kori M. Burton, grandson Chad M. Burton (wife Deborah), grandsons PFC. Ryan Baker & Casey Baker, great grandchildren Nicholas, Elijah & Ava Burton and cousin, Joye Mannell. The Rosary Service will be held Sunday the 27th at 7:00pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vancouver. Service will be held Monday the 28th at 11:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vancouver .
