I knew Roy more through his parents, but would see him at the mill or around town.
Had just friended him on face book, and found out about his battle, I was sorry to hear when he had passed, too soon to young.

Dear Mary, Chelsea, Kyle and Peggy,
Roy was very kind as he sent encouraging words as I struggled while healing from Guillan Barr Syndrome (Kathy). It was amazing as he was suffering himself. We are so very sorry for your loss. He was full of life and loved his family. We are praying that God will comfort each of you as you move forward. May your memories be a blessing to you. Much love, Jim and Kathy Brock

I am truly sorry for the loss and pain that the Dowell family is feeling because of losing Roy in death. Most of us have had to endure the sorrow of losing a loved one in death. What helped me the most was prayer and faith in God's promises like found here at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 and it tells us: "And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing." God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises, including the resurrection. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40, John 11:25) Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: "is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago." For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Again, the family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences. So sorry to here about Roy, he fought a good battle and was optimistic throughout. I still miss all the years we shared in the MERT and Fire Department and I have many fond memories. I enjoyed his FB comments over the last few weeks. I will miss him.
