Jeri & Family.
I loved Russell. He was a gentleman at heart and a cowboy to the core. Does it get any better than that? The last time I had a good long talk with him was at Christmas time. He shared with me how extremely happy he was. He said, I"m serving a mission with my beautiful wife, it's nearly Christmas, I love my children and am so very proud of them and the people they have become. They are wonderful parents, aunts and uncles. And I know without a doubt they love me back. And most important, I know The Gospel is True and that makes me the richest man on the plant.
The last time I saw him as Fathers Day. He had just come home from the hospital and we had very little private time. Again, he shared how happy he was and how grateful for the life he had. He mentioned each of the kids, told me something special about them and their spouses and even caught me up on all the grandkids and great grandbabies. I will forever remember his smile as he talked about you.
I will carry those memories fondly with me the rest of my life. I will remember the clicking of his boots roaming the halls of the Prineville Chapel and I will take comfort in knowing he provided for me a rare opportunity to be loved by a truly wonderful man. I am one of the luckiest women in the world.
