I spent a lot of time with Chuck, first at Tru-Check, then for many years here at the utility. I remember when he applied for an Electric Meter Installer position, and I hired him on at Tru-Check without hesitation. His matureness, smile, and work ethic were self-evident right-of-the-bat, and he was by far the best meter installer on my 24-man roster. Every morning I would arrive to work at least 30 minutes before our 7 am start, and every morning Chuck would be there sitting in his car waiting to get into the building. Finally, one day I said, why don't I just give you the key and you can open the place up. From that day on, I would arrive at work, and he would have the shop opened up and be sitting there drinking coffee and reading the paper. It was those mornings where we really bonded and became friends. In all the years I've known Chuck, I don't think I've ever seen him without a smile on his face. His upbeat personality and positive attitude were very contagious. He genuinely cared about those around him and was always very empathetic to the sensitive customers he served. I remember Lisa and attending his wedding at Crosley Lanes many years ago. One might think, who on earth would get married in a bowling alley? Well, if you knew Chuck, it was no surprise at all. He was almost as passionate about bowling as he was fishing. In fact, I would have been surprised if he got hitched anywhere else. It's sad to lose him so young, but he is in a better place...rest in peace, brother; we are all missing you.

So sorry for your loss. We will miss him at CPU, always had a smile on his face. So grateful I was able to work with him, even during COVID.
May he enjoy many days of fishing in heaven.
