To the family of Ed Allyn, words are small and seem insignificant to share what a complete joy it has been to meet Ed and watch him at work at Smittys. He has always made our family feel at home there. Going to Smittys has become a weekly ritual and getting to know all the wonderful staff has been a gift. Ed didn't just give us a good local place to eat, he provided us a reprieve from our busy lives to slow down and enjoy some of life's best pleasures, the simple chance to sit and eat a home style meal with family and friends. He provided a legacy from our Mom's memories from high school with the previous owner of this restaurant's location to our sanctuary during covid. Our whole family will miss Ed. Always pleasant while picking up tables or sitting down to eat a meal for himself, Ed will always shine to us as a local icon. We are so very sorry for your loss. The Doug Cox family
