Dear Aunt Mary, It is sad that you had to leave all your loved ones. You will be missed. Seems heaven has a lot of loved ones lately. Just remember you will never be forgotten . I laugh every time my toilet over flows as the memory i have of your toilet years ago needing a pail of water to flush properly and i missed and spilled it all over the floor, you juat laughed and said well the floor needed mopping anyway. To your family hang on to the memories . God knows thats what gets a person thru the day sometimes.God bless you all .

Dear family,
We are Mary's godchildren - my sister, Reva, and I. As a teenager Mary babysat us. We lived in the same Rosemere neighborhood as Mary's parents and family. She and her older sister, Kathleen, stood up with us as our godmothers when we were baptized at Memorial Lutheran Church in Vancouver. Mary and our mother, Burnice Morecroft, were very good friends. Reva and I were always along when our mom would drive out to visit Mary. We remember Sandra and Louis and then later, Sandra, Louis, Jeannie and Joy as very young children. In fact, I got to know Sandra and Louis better years later when I started teaching at Battle Ground High School and they became students of mine.
We are so very grateful that in more recent years we had spent time with Mary at both her 80th and 90th birthday parties, at her home, and through phone calls, letters and Christmas cards. It meant so much to us that Mary came to our mom's memorial service in 2014. She was the only friend there who had known our mother when our mother was young. Mary was our link to our mom and we will miss her so much. As we told her recently, we are so glad that she was our godmother!
Sincerely,
Marla Morecroft Kaufmann and Reva Morecroft Gardner

Mom, I can’t believe you are gone. Each day I wake up I feel a deep sense of loss. Thank you for giving me your strength and your love. We were together when I came into this world and I feel blessed to have been with you when you passed into heaven. Thank you for being my mother. I will love you and will always be a part of me.
Love Nellie

Mom, I miss you so much. I know you never forgave me for moving away. I did my best to come down and spend time with you. When I did we had good times. Especially when we went down to see Emmalou in Redding. Good time. I will always cherish the time I had with you. Will always love you.

Mom..I miss you. I miss the Saturdays morning visits and errands, miss the 6:00pm "Sharp" phone call just to see how your day was and what was for dinner and how I drove you nuts cuz I never planned my meals. I'll miss you stealing all my tomatoes when I was away from home. I'll miss all the constant banner you and Kevin shared over politics and life in general. I'll miss you blowing me a kiss when I leave and oh that lovely finger! You're in a better place now surrounded by all the loved ones you miss, save a place for us mom, we'll be together again. But most most all mom I love you more!

I met Mary when I was 19 years old, that was 50 years ago. Mary and my mother Laura went to school together. Mary shared stories of their escapades with me. Over the many years Ted, Mary Tom and I went on vacation together. We also played 100’s of pinochle games and shared dinners. Tom and Mary liked to prank each other. One day Tom called Mary and told her he was with the IRS and needed to schedule an audit appointment. When she found out it was Tom that made the call she chased him around the yard and finally caught him and literally washed his face with a powdered sugar donut. On Friday nights we went to the Airport Inn for a prime rib dinner. One evening as we were leaving the restaurant Ted and Tom grabbed our purses and left the restaurant arm and arm. Unfortunately one of Teds co-workers met them at the door. Embarrassing for boys but Mary and I had a good laugh. One summer years ago Mary came over to teach me how to can vegetables. On that day we canned green beans. Tom refused to eat any thinking they would probably make him sick.
I could go on and on with so many shared good times. Mary was like a second mother to us and her death leaves a big hole in our lives. It comforts us to know she is in heaven and has finally back with her love Ted

Gramma, I don’t know where to start. You have been my only grandparent I’ve had for about 17 years of my life. I’ve came to you when I needed a friend, you’ve been my hiding place when I was learning about life, you’ve always been my friend. Seeing you always taking care of your yard or making sure that your squirrels have been fed, while watching you with your BB gun shooting blue jays out of their feeders. Every Christmas and thanksgiving has always been a blast to be able to come over and celebrate with your arms always open to hugs and kindness. You were one of the strongest women I’ve ever known, taking care of everyone. No matter how well you knew them. Thank you for being the matriarch of the family. I love you infinity. Colton
