Richard Earl Nickel Obituary

Richard Earl Nickel, 91, passed away on August 8, 2022 in Vancouver, Washington. He was a lifetime Washougal, Washington resident.

Richard was born on April 3, 1931 in Vancouver, Washington to his parents, Elmo Nickel and Etta DeMary. He worked in the Papermill Industry as a foreman/operator for Crown Zellerbach where he retired from. He belonged to the A.W.P.P.W. Local 5 and was also a shop steward for the Union workers. He was a volunteer Fire Fighter for the Washougal Fire Department. He was involved with the Washougal High School sports programs and coached the Camas-Washougal Little League and Camas-Washougal Babe Ruth and Senior Babe Ruth. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Richard is survived by his sons, Richard E. (Kip) Nickel of Washougal, Washington; Jeff (Denise) Nickel of Phoenix, Oregon; 7 grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita; sister, Barbara Sanders.
