Obituary of Dean Stegehuis

Dean Siaosi Stegehuis went back to his Lord on June 17, 2008. Born on June 13, 1960 in Kona, Hawaii, Dean was 48 years old. A Vancouver resident for the last ten years, Dean was formerly from Kona, Hawaii. He worked for Rinker Material in Vancouver, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Evergreen Ward. Dean was an avid bow hunter, diver, and fisherman who also enjoyed camping, watching the Hunting Channel, and sports. Most of all, Dean loved his family and his Lord. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Jolanda at home, children Malosi, Talalelei, Mandie Alofa, Dean "DJ" Jr., and Atamu, parents George and Nancy Stegehuis, sisters Colleen Figueroa, Nancy Stegehuis, Diana Pai, and Jan Stegehuis, his hanai brother Keoki Cipriano, grandchildren Koalii, Kamalani, Mahealani, and all of his extended family and friends. There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Dean on Wednesday, June 25th at 2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Vancouver, WA Stake Center: 10509 SE 5th Street in Vancouver. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Vault interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials in Dean's honor may be sent to OHSU Leukemia and Lymphoma Research: 3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Road, CR 145, Portland, OR 97239-3098.
