Carolyn worked for many years with the students at Lane Middle School in Portland. As a teacher there, I had the honor and the pleasure of working with her. Carolyn was so wonderfully human, very devoted to the children and their development, and very kind and cheerful in her interactions with students and staff alike. It is easy to recall the sound of her laugh in the staff lunch room, and the subtle, honeyed accent of her speaking that must have been the product of her childhood in New Orleans. She is missed at Lane. To Carolyn's family and friends, I offer my heartfelt condolences for the loss of this wonderful woman.
