Carolyn Ann Britton Thompson passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, in Camas, Washington. Carolyn was 65 years old. She was born April 30, 1944, New Orleans, Louisiana, where she graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels in 1962. She worked as a secretary at E.S. Binnings, Inc during the 60's and Texas A&M University during the 70's. She was a stay-at-home mother and later worked as an Instructional Assistant at Lane Middle School in the Portland Public Schools District retiring in 2002. She loved spending time with family, doing genealogy, and helping and supporting others. Carolyn was a former resident of Portland for 25 years, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Carolyn is survived by her three children: Wilson Thompson, Vancouver; Stormy Staley, Beaverton, OR; Darci Thompson, Federal Way, and grandchildren: Joshua, Allison, Careese, Sofia, and Sydnei. Two sisters: Patricia Curley, Shanghai China; Judy Lee Bond, Hattiesburg, MS; three nieces, one nephew. She is preceded in death by Dilworth Perry Thompson, her husband, and Coyt and Cecilia O'Donnell Britton, her parents Services for Carolyn will be held on Friday, July 24th at 11:00 am with a viewing at 10:00am at the LDS church: 18300 NE 18th Street, Vancouver, Washington 98684. Vault Interment will follow at Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Memorials in Carolyn's honor may be made to the church's Missionary Fund.
