James Daniel McKenzie passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at his home in Washougal. Born on April 13, 1933 in Woodland, Washington, James was 76 years old. A Washougal resident for the last nine months, James was formerly of Vancouver. He worked as a dairy farmer for fifty years before his retirement. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1774 L.O.O.M. since 1966. Known as "Everybody's Pops," James was a Veteran of the United States Army and received and honorable discharge and a National Defense Service Medal. James is survived by his son Daniel McKenzie, daughter Vicki McKenzie-Bevard, grandson Daniel Norcross, brothers Jack McKenzie and Edwin McKenzie, and sisters Betty McKenzie and Pat Wright. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Johnson-McKenzie in 1988 and nine brothers and sisters. There will be a Celebration of James' life on Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 am at the Bible Fellowship Community Church: 15507 NE 34th Street in Vancouver. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
