Thank you, Jackie, for the note about your mom. Many years ago I worked with her on our women's program at church. She was so creative and came up with interesting ideas. I am amazed that she did so well after her kidney transplant. I viewed the photographic memories page and am curious about the one that she is standing in front of the huge tire. Was this one taken at the copper mine in Salt Lake City? We were there this past April and we have a very similar picture. I know your parents loved to travel and lived full lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Carol and Ron Phillips

We were both sorry to read in the Post Record about your loss. Mike and I went to Western with Sandra and Willie, and want them to know that we were thinking of them.

My mother was born on October 29, 1923 and was the second child out of six. She loved her dad and always spoke fondly about him. She told stories about her three brothers and how much fun she had with them. When she married my dad all was well until she moved to the Northwest away from her family. It was hard on her until she started having children of her own. There are five of us, way more than enough. Having her own home was incredibly important. It meant roots never to move again. She lived life the way she wanted to by taking care of all of us. My mother taught me how to cook, bake, and enjoy the outdoors. Both Mom and Dad use to stay in teh campsite and rest, while we ran wild through the whole campground. It was a blast the time we went clamming at the beach, even when we broke the shovel and never got one clam. Mom and Dad laughed at us kids when we hunted butterflies. Then they even started dashing after a few. Mom loved to sew. She sewed a lot of clothes when we were growing up. Sewing her quilts kept my Mom going right up to the end of her life. The Northwest was home for many years until her death on May 14, 2005. Vivian Mae Hoffman would like you to know she loved her family very much and a swift death was the best she could have asked for. Vivian was at peace right up to the last hour of her life. Without her here it's real quiet. Love Jackie Hoffman
