Clayton LaRoy Anderson passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006, in Vancouver. He was born on December 20, 1943, in Cokato, Minnesota. Clay was 62 years old. Clay was the Principal for Camas High School from 1973-1981. He worked as a Superintendent for various school districts in Skamania County, retiring from Skamania School Dist. 1994. He was a former member of the Camas Lions Club, and a former board member of the Camas Public Library. Clay was one of the original founders of Camas' sister school program with Serei-Gakkuen in Hosoe-cho, Japan, and sister city program with Taki-cho, Japan. It was his pleasure most recently to be a part of the staff at Lutz Hardware in Camas. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed crabbing, boating, and kayaking. Clay is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna Anderson at home, daughter Casey Beuving of Portland, son Donald Anderson of Bellingham, and brothers Ronald Anderson of Carson, Gary Anderson of Carson, and Lonnie Anderson of Vancouver. Internment will take place at the Camas Cemetery with immediate familiy only. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials in Clay's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society: 0330 SW Curry St, Portland, OR 97239 or to the Camas Library: 625 NE 4th Ave, Camas, WA 98607. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
