Obituary of Kyle Cooke

Kyle Anthony Cooke died August 5, 2006, at SW Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, WA after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. He was 19. Kyle was born Feb. 27, 1987, in Portland, OR. He moved to Washougal in 1997. He graduated in 2005 from Washougal High School and worked at the JWR Boys and Girls Club. Kyle and his family attended Grace Foursquare Church in Camas, WA. Kyle is survived by his father Kevin, his mother Conny, his brother Taylor, grandparents Alice and Jacob Selensky of Vaughn, MT and Derek and Lee Cooke of Nottingham, England, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kyle was an inspiration to all who knew him. He deeply appreciated the love and support of all his friends. Kyle was passionate about his relationship with God, his family, his friends, his music, and his band "A Hope for Home". Kyle was the 2004 National Spokeskid for the Sunshine Kids Cancer Org. As a philanthropist, he helped raise money for Doernbecher's Children's Hospital, Camp Ukandu/The American Cancer Society, and The Make-A-Wish Foundation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006 at Grace Foursquare Church, 717 SE Everett Road, in Camas, WA. Dress attire should be casual, just as Kyle would have wanted. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 9th and Thursday, August 10th from 10:00 am to 8:00pm at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Flowers should be sent to Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Donations to help cover funeral expenses can be made at any branch of Riverview Community Bank in Kyle's name. We would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the Camas/Washougal Community for all the wonderful, incredible, heartfelt love during this difficult time. Kyle deeply appreciated the support of the community he loved so much. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
